Do Something Executive
For you executive-types, we have plenty of options to keep you stimulated and involved. Here’s an overview of your volunteer options: Come to prison (near Houston) – Volunteers come to prison to serve as executive judges, providing feedback to participants on different aspects of their business plans. Participation is either on a panel or one-on-one, but regardless, you will leave with a new respect for our aspiring entrepreneurs and a lot of good stories that begin with, “when I was in prison …”. Teach eSchool (Houston or Dallas) – Entrepreneurship School (eSchool) is our continuing education program for released graduates. Executive volunteers can serve as instructors by teaching a two-hour class on a topic of their expertise. However, we ask that you attend one of our premier prison events to witness the intensity of our program before you impart your wisdom to our graduates. Become a Mentor (Houston or Dallas) - We all learn by example. Our underdogs need some positive male role models to teach them the ropes. Sign up to spend one hour a week with a released participant to serve as a business and/or life coach. Think You Can Say No to Mentoring? MBA Business Plan Advisor - Work one-on-one with a participant to increase the quality of his business plan. You will receive sections of an inmate’s business plan each week via email from PEP staff (your contact information remains confidential). You will spend an average of one hour per week over a three-month period editing the business plan documents for grammar and content, and providing market research on your inmate’s business concept.
